Prof. Dr. Faruk Kerem Giray

Kerem Giray graduated from Istanbul University, Law Faculty before having postgraduate degree in European Union Law at Marmara University. He made academic research in Advanced Legal Studies Institute at London University for his doctorate thesis. He was holding Ph.D. degree from Istanbul University due to his thesis focusing on International Child Abduction issues.
He made research as an academician at Georgetown University Law Faculty, where he was granted with a scholarship both from Turkish Higher Education Council and Georgetown Law School in 2011-2012. During these years he simultaneously made research on ICSID arbitration in the World Bank and also at the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
Giray is a professor in the Department of Private International Law, at Istanbul University Law Faculty. In 2022, he was selected as Turkey’s Correspondent by the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT). He provides consultancy services on international private law, international child abduction, international investment arbitration and international commercial arbitration and law of foreigners.
